Anyway, that has nothing to do with my actual post, but I'm always looking for people who agree with me so I feel less alone. I guess it does have something to do with my post (see: title of post, thanks Ridz). Last year I was in Long Island with my friends and I had found the most ridiculous jacket at Zara. The sleeves looked like they were covered in a black version of Chewbacca's hair. I loved the jacket but I thought to myself how impractical it would be and so I left it. MONTHS later I still loved that jacket and because I am so lucky to have such good friends, Nafeesa found it on sale and got it for me.
I guess I have a lot of clothes that are much like this wookie-jacket, they're so ridiculous and I have no reason to wear them but it just makes me happy knowing that they're in my closet. If you think about some older men (with hairy arms? just kidding, maybe not.), they buy these sports cars that sit in their garage, they care for them, they spend thousands of dollars, and then they don't even use them. That's how I think of such above mentioned clothes (except a much cheaper version), the young lady's version of the old man's sports car. Well this past Thursday was one of those nights where I decided to take my baby out for a spin...
My girl Ridda and I had been wanting to do dinner in the Seaport District, and we found the recently opened Empire Restaurant & Lounge that actually has a dress code; so not Boston, it felt like we had walked into New York! Loves it! The food/mocktails were alright, but the ambiance was exceptional! Their portions are quite large as well, so even though the restaurant is said to be $$$, it doesn't seem like it when you realize how much food you're getting.
Lastly, I wanted to do my first style blog spotlight on my friend Ridda, she too decided to wear leather pants (hers were from Forever, my maroon leggings with leather panels can be found at H&M) and she paired them with some awesome cuffed heels! I'm obsessed and had recently seen a post about them on my friend Shahida's blog! My friends are all great minds that think alike! She also wore a great studded shoulder bag that she bought in San Antonio recently. I love how Ridda works multiple funky pieces into her outfits, she has such great style!
You all should definitely check out Empire, and make plans with me so I can give you the style blog treatment as well! xoxo.

Love your style! Do tell me where you purchased those shoes!!! Thanks.
My fave outfit so far!
LOVE the jacket on you! it's bold, and quirky, and a little cray. VERY you! Burgundy leather is fly-I tried them on, but the zipper wouldn't go up my butt cheeks-(tmi? I think not!)!:p
