The Girl in the Nude Lipstick

Have you ever read "Confessions of a Shopaholic"? I saw the movie and felt as though I could relate to the main character, she mentioned at one point in the movie that she shops to fill sort of a void in her life, and you get this amazing rush, but then after a little while that rush sort of wears off and you have to do it all over again! As dramatic as that sounds, it resonated with me, okay?! So i decided to read the book during our trip to Chicago this past weekend for Fizzas graduation from optometry school and WOW. It wasn't even like i could relate to the book, it was like i was reading my very own biography. The character makes up so many reasons as to why its okay to shop and she just keeps doing it and can never get out of debt, and then there was one point in the book, when she wanted to treat herself to a cheap treat, and what does she get herself? A NUDE LIPSTICK. i could not make this stuff up my friends! So i decided enough is enough, i have plenty of good stuff, and im a smart girl right? i can find economically friendly ways to shop?

The entire trip I was trying to find a MAC store because I can't seem to find my honeylove lipstick, but what did I find? nothing. no MAC store, no comprable colors, nothing. So i just had to use my other lipsticks to hold me over. On our way back Alma opened here Cosmopolitan magazine and showed me an AD by revlon where the model was sporting "Almost Nude", Alma showed it to me and was like "wow! we should get this!" ofcourse in the back of my head i scoff at the idea of buying Revlon over MAC.. but today at the grocery store i decided to pick it up and give it a try and guys, its crazy BUT ITS EXACTLY THE SAME AS HONEYLOVE. maybe a little less matte, but that isnt a bad thing at all! and for $7.99, thats a savings of like $5 a pop, which adds up every month! I even picked up a lipliner that matches perfectly! The below image looks kind of orangey, but I assume thats the effect of the nude in the pic...

I love expensive makeup, and I haven't left it completely, but I've decided for the most part, makeup products that just provide color (lipstick, eyeshadow, blush) might not make a difference where you buy it from... i think the more expensive the makeup, the longer it will last in the sense that it doesnt go bad as quickly, but the truth is, i wear makeup so often, that i use it all up before it goes bad.... and for a girl who has newly decided to go on a budget hmm... what do you all think?

till then halik from me to you :-*
