First Days of Work and Honeylove

Achoo! I'm getting sick....

Although I was supposed to go to a family friend's for dinner with la familia, I have opted to stay under the covers in my pajamas.

I started work on Monday: my first real financey job, and I like it! Although I understand close to nothing, everyone has been really great, and I am constantly hearing "everyone was new at one point" and "you're supposed to be confused on day three", so I am happy! Well, I am happy, aside from two things,

1.) I don't have a desk yet and everyone eats at their desks.. today i had a little bonding time with the two of the girls in the group, but after picking up our sandwiches they were insistent on going back to the office... how was i supposed to tell them "but guysss, you have cubes, where am i supposed to eat?" i ended up eating at someone desk, so embarrasing.

2.) I am getting SICK... its like the works.. head ache, clogged ears nose and throat, and an oncoming fever... i also have cramps (explanation will be saved for the girls-only-blog).. I dont know what I am going to do tomorrow..

Now for the interesting part of the blog.. my first lipstick post, and it's called: honeylove. A nude lipcolor is key for anyone who wears any sort of dramatic eyemakeup, whether shadow or liner, to help the makeup become wearable both day and night. While watching a makeup tutorial, the artist recommended "Fleshpot" by MAC which, as I had said in my previous post, had been limited time only. Many MAC fans said "Fleshpot" to be comparable "Myth" (also by MAC). Well guys, "Myth" made me look terminally ill (supposedly it is a great base color, I can neither confirm or deny).

This great MAC makeup artist, Rose, recommended I try "Honeylove" (see above)... this color is perfect... you can either keep it soft and matte, or add a little gloss to give it a little drama, a clear gloss looks best. I've been using Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Minty Shine Lipgloss as my clear gloss, although this gloss probably deserves its own post, all I can say is each girl should have it. Not only is it an actual REFRESHING minty, but its the perfect amount of shine, and it makes your lips tingle! To be completely candid, tingly lips to me equals lip plumping, even though thats not true haha.

My final review on "Honeylove" is an A+++, I could wear it every season and be happy. Although it gives a very sexy look for the lips, its not ostentatious, which is the best part! You want people to stare at your lips and make it their fault, not yours;)

To further drive the point "Honeylove" received UK Instyle Magazine's "Best Nude Lip Color of 2007".

Okay darlings, this post has become a novel. For future reference, I will keep my lipstick posts seperate from my life posts (and generally shorter)... I am sick today though, so I am allowed to be stupid... I am going to be trying new lip products and hopefully sharing one each week, definitely let me in on any new lip-dish...

till then, a kiss from me to you:-*

This isn't supposed to be mean so don't take it that way, it's just me being totally ignorant about make up: what is the point of wearing nude lipstick?

good question zehr! nude lipstick offsets the actual tone of your lips, and brings it closer to your skin tone. Although it is not ACTUALLY nude, it will just bring slight pigment (like a very faint pink or beige).. lipliner is key when using a nude lipstick, you can line your lips slightly above your actual lip, and fill it in with the lip color, giving the illusion of larger lips without looking trashy!

nude lips can often be found on the runway, because it compliments any outfit or look, without taking over or the backseat.

also, another nice pale color (slightly pink) is turkish delight by nars... Its a lipgloss so its not matte... but it kind of has the effect that you honeylove and clear gloss has, all in one....

hi darling,
I also have a huge obsession with lipstick/lipgloss/makeup, in general. I went to MAC and I actually tried out the honeylove, it looked very pasty and cakey on me. On a darker tone, what do you recommend for a nude look?

thanks for all the comments guys!!

nusrath-- unfortunately i am not familiar with makeup for all skin types BUT, if you are having a hard time finding a nude lip color (and this goes for everyone, all skin tones) the solution is simple-- all you have to do is apply some of your concealer or foundation on to your lips, and then add a light gloss on top.. my favorite gloss to go nude is Sephora Brand Lipgloss Beige 20, it is honestly one of the best lip glosses i have ever owned! if you want to go for a matte lip, what i have done in the past is applied some light blush (the stick kind), that also made my lips look reaaalllyy plump! hope this helps xox

Dear Z,

Is nude lipstick REALLY for everyone?

if one does their makeup correctly i PERSONALLY feel that it could work for anyone.. 99% of your look is how you wear it, so in the great words of someone in this world "work it girl!"
