Tried and Tested: Mascara and Collagen Supplements

I know, I know... I'm horrible at this! I am totally not a blogger. When I imagine a blogger I imagine someone who is really thoughtful, and organized and sits at their desk and drinks coffee while they type amazing blog posts like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. If you know me well, you know I am no Carrie Bradshaw, and that is my excuse as to why I am so bad at keeping up with my blogging. I also think it's important to mention I don't drink coffee.

Another excuse is I FINALLY GOT AN IPHONE! Instagram has totally taken over my itch to blog. I have started taking pictures of my work outfits every day and it gives me the same satisfaction as blogging without any time involved. I do sometimes want to tell my friends about cool things I've used or done though and that is where Zahra's Lipstick will never die.

Lately I've been talking about eyelashes a lot, and although repetitive I have finally found a couple of products I love love love! I had purchased Tarte's "Lights, Cameras, Lashes" on a whim and really liked it. It lengthened, separated and thickened my lashes so well. I especially liked the product because it was made without using chemicals (I think that is what makes Tarte different from other products, which is great since a key to getting beautiful lashes is ensuring they stay strong!) I had committed myself to "Lights, Cameras, Lashes" but then on Black Friday found Tarte's "Gifted" on a special sale for only $10!

The highlight of "Gifted" is that the product is made with Amazonian Clay which is extremely hydrating and aids in repairing lashes and preventing them from falling out (which in turn adds to thickness). Tarte also claims that the mascara increases volume by 406%. Not sure how they calculated that number but I'd be really interested (but too lazy) to find out. Regardless, I have seen some serious change in my lashes, and am loving it and plan on sticking to this mascara! I wasn't in love with the primer they included, but was given the Dior Primer from my friend Zarmina on my birthday and am loving it.

Lastly, and potentially the most important part of this post, is the collagen supplement I discovered a few months ago. I had gone into GNC to pick up some Vitamin D, and while checking out the cashier encouraged me to try what seemed like a starburst. I had told him earlier that I tend to run on the treadmill for my workout and he recommended I start taking this supplement to promote healthy joints in my knees. I wasn't really sold, because at $20 per 30 chews I thought my joints would be okay on their own. He then continued to tell me that these Collagen Enhance Fruit Chews by ResVitale are also a great beauty supplement for your skin and hair. As soon as he told me that I was sold and bought two bags (buy one get one half off always gets me). After about 3 months of use I can say that I am hooked on this! Not only is it super yummy but my hair has been growing like crazy, my nails are stronger and my eyelashes are noticeably longer. The only downside of this product is to see continued results you have to keep taking them. A week after my first supply finished my nails started breaking again. Girls always ask me how I grow my hair long and this is my new recommendation! I have seen some serious results and think you will too!

I have a handful of other things I have tried and tested and will be updating the blog soon, but keep checking back to see outfit posts and if you like them, follow me on Instagram: zahrab786 !
