A Night in the Big City

Hi kiddies!! In typical Zahra fashion I am returning soon after my blog-comeback with another post. I had to make a last minute trip to The Big Apple for work and was pretty bummed. There is something about going to your own home after a long day at work that is just unbeatable, so much mindless familiarity, I love it!

My travels began at 11:30 this morning and due to some horrible weather did not reach my destination until 4:30, successfully causing the rescheduling of the meeting I was initially coming a day early for anyway. I decided I would make the most of my trip, so I got to my hotel at about 7pm, got dressed up, and decided to head out for a solo night, declaring my independence to the world. As soon as I stepped out, I turned back around, weather sucked big time. Second best girl independence declaration is ordering a $60 dinner to her room, has anyone ever wanted to do that? Find a restaurant online and order whatever looks good? Well I did that, and let me tell you, what a horrible idea. I ordered calamari, garlic bread, spinach, tortellini and tiramisu, and the only good dishes were the tortellini and tiramisu. The calamari came grilled, and looked like it was still alive! Can't an independent girl get some fried calamari up in this biz? I know this is horrible to say, but I didn't even want to look at it. Totally ruined my takeout-food-fantasy.

As I sit here eating my tiramisu, I wanted to share the outfit I had planned to wear for New York tonight. I absolutely adore the black/beige combo, so classy, sexy and flattering to all! Another great aspect is that this combo can be worn year round! In this outfit I wore a sleeveless chiffon button up from H&M that is beige in the front and black in the back and on the collar. I then paired it with a structured collarless blazer from Forever that I am loving, especially paired with slouchy fall tops! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy, I'm going to go to sleep, cannot wait to be in my own bed tomorrow surrounded by the people I love! But not at the same time. Unless you all want to come over, we can arrange something.
