Depressed mood, tearfulness, feeling empty inside, extreme fatigue. These are all symptoms I have experienced since Tuesday April 24th at around 4 PM. When googling what ever my ailment could be, postpartum depression seemed to fit the bill. I still have yet to find an answer as to whether or not separation from vacation can bring on PPD, since I did not actually give birth to a child (thank God). But it genuinely does feel like that, and my five girlfriends who I went to Ft Myers with for an amazing four days have had the same feeling! It really got me thinking that I have become so attached to the city lifestyle, when really, there are gorgeous beaches and warmer climates awaiting every colorful outfit and every funky lipstick I own. But here I am, living in a northeast city, wearing black head to toe and nude lipstick (no disrespect Honeylove, I know my roots). I'm sure in a couple weeks I will fall back in love with my city, and that is why I think I have PPD.
I don't know if constant reminiscing is also a symptom (do mothers with PPD reminisce upon when they had cankles?) but I am writing today to reminisce on all the fab lipsticks i was able to wear. for the trip i bought three lipsticks, Ruby Woo by MAC, St Germain by MAC and Matte Peach from the Maniac Matte line by Sephora. What do you all think of my self obsessed photo montage below?? I'm going to give you all one guess which side of my face I prefer to be photographed on.
From left to right I am wearing Ruby Woo, a perfect red, so matte that it is a "Retro Matte" formula. Next I am wearing Viva Glam Nicki, which was discussed in my last post. In the third picture, I am wearing Matte Peach, although very light in this picture, I had been looking for an orange to wear on the trip and decided to keep it muted with a peach color, and now I regret it! Orange is all the rage right now, why mute it?! I am considering trading this color in and getting "Morange" by MAC, as inspired by my friends Shahida and Sara S. Next color was by far my favorite of the trip, "St Germain" by MAC, how much does this color remind you all of Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games?? This was my ridiculous color of the trip and i LOVED it. Had been looking for a lilac and this one had just enough neon pink! Lastly I wore my most veteran color, Corrupt by Illamasque. All looks were worn with at most liquid black liner, which for me is one big plus about ridiculous lipstick, the rest of your makeup can (and should) be seriously minimal!
Hopefully as the Summer begins I can try and get some use out of my lipsticks, but I am itching to go on my next vacation where I can wear these gorgeous colors and not feel like a clown haha. I also helped my girl Wafaa pick a color for the trip as well (she did most of the picking, I just stood in admiration) which I'll have a blog post about soon!!
One more thing, a few of my friends have asked that I mention nail colors that I rock on my blog as well, this week I am wearing "Mod About You" by OPI, the perfect bright baby pink! My dad told me it looks like a color from a cartoon, best compliment ever!!! Love you Abbu!! Sorry the picture is so blurry. What colors are you into lately?
till then csók from me to you :-*
